To Infini and Beyond!

In the skin-tightening world, there are lots of different options with one goal — to get your collagen production to ramp up. What you want is akin to the 3D movie glasses world recently going berserk with the production of eclipse viewing glasses.
Collagen is important because this protein is responsible for the skin being firm and taut. Collagen builds a framework in the dermis layer of the skin that does this. The problem is, as we age our collagen production drops more than the Saturn line at GM. OK, maybe not that much. But our collagen productions drops one additional percentage point every year after we turn 20. So in a couple decades, you have dramatically less collagen to support your skin. Hello, sagging.
So, along come procedures such as delivering radiofrequency (RF) energy into the dermis layer of the skin, or creating thousands of microscopic punctures through the epidermis into the dermis. The goal of both of these procedures? To get the body to think it has been wounded and respond by producing new collagen to “heal” the wound.
What if you could combine two procedures into one? That’s exactly what we do at Northcoast Laser Cosmetics with Infini. Infini combines radiofrequency energy with microneedling to deliver one collagen-boosting super procedure!
What does Infini work on?
At Northcoast, we use Infini for treating these problems:
- Skin laxity
- Skin Rejuvenation
- Acne scars
- Acne breakouts
- Stretch marks
- Injury scars
What’s the big deal with Infini?
Infini is a two-for-one procedure basically. You can have microneedling done. Or you can have radio-frequency energy procedures done. This combines both. Plus, because the RF energy is delivered through the ends of the microneedling needles directly into the dermis, there isn’t any heating or harm to the epidermis (the skin’s outer layer). This can be a problem with various RF and laser skin-tightening procedures that have to penetrate the epidermis.
Plus, adding microneedling to RF delivery stimulates fibroblasts in the skin to produce collagen in addition to the collagen production that is being triggered in the dermis by the RF energy. And the microneedling lets us apply topical serums that can penetrate much more efficiently.
