What does dermaplaning do for my skin?
Dermaplaning is a two-step exfoliation treatment. Step one utilizes a sterile instrument which is passed gently over the top layer of skin, removing unwanted fine hairs and providing a clean, refreshed look. During step two a light chemical peel is applied to the skin. The two procedures combined allow for deeper penetration to soften fine lines and uneven pigment, and assist in skin cell turnover. You’ll leave the office with baby smooth skin!
Does dermaplaning hurt?
No. The instrument gently glides over the skin – there is NO discomfort, and NO numbing cream is required. A slight tingling effect may be noticed when the chemical peel is applied to the skin. Patients are provided with a hand held fan to keep cool and comfortable the entire time.
Is there any downtime from dermaplaning?
There is ZERO downtime. Immediately following the treatment the skin may have a pink look to it, but that should subside within a few hours. There may be some tightening and gentle flaking to the skin as well, and this usually dissipates within two days. We often recommend this service right before a special event to give a person that “radiant glow.”
How long does the dermaplaning procedure take?
The dermaplaning treatment takes about 45min start to finish.
