Skin Tightening

As we age, skin becomes looser, or more lax.  (Laxity of the skin is a normal part of the aging process). The approach to treatment depends on the severity of the lax skin.  Mild laxity responds well to laser treatment. In addition to laser treatments, moderate laxity due to volume loss will generally require the use of dermal fillers to fill in (revolumize) the affected areas of the face. Cheeks, nasolabial folds and marionette lines are the areas of the face usually affected by volume loss.

How does it work?

The laser gently heats the deeper layers of the skin stimulating collagen production that helps to tighten and tone the skin.  Fillers, if used, physically fill the facial folds for immediate results.

How many laser treatments will you need?

A series of three to six treatments, spaced four weeks apart, is our standard recommendation.  Occasionally, more treatments may be needed for certain individuals or conditions.  Maintenance treatments may also be prescribed for optimal, lasting results.

What can you expect immediately after laser treatment?

Immediately following the procedure you may experience some redness and mild swelling which should dissipate after a day or two.  Make up may be applied to the treated areas immediately following the procedure.
