So come in and let us put that fat in the deep freeze with CoolSculpting.

What is CoolSculpting?

If you follow the aesthetic industry at all, you’ve probably heard of CoolSculpting. It’s a relatively new system that actually freezes the fat cells, making them die. The body then flushes them away permanently.

CoolSculpting was actually discovered in a sideways manner. Two Harvard scientists were studying why some kids seemed to develop dimples in their cheeks when they ate a bunch of popsicles. They theorized that the cold in the popsicles was somehow affecting the fat in the cheeks of the kids. Their study proved true and gave them an idea about other pockets of fat.

CoolSculpting is that idea. Those two scientists found that human fat cells freeze at a higher temperature than the corresponding tissue cells. So, the panels used with the CoolSculpting system deliver controlled cooling directly down into the fat in targeted treatment areas. This cooling freezes the fat cells, yet leaves the other tissue around them unharmed. The fat cells die and then the body flushes them out of the system over the next few weeks.

Overall, a CoolSculpting treatment kills around 20% of the fat cells in the target area. And they are gone for good.

Does CoolSculpting hurt?

Patients feel a brief sensation of extreme cold, and then that passes. Otherwise, it’s a pretty low-key procedure. Patients work on their laptops, listen to music, or read. Each treatment area takes about one hour. Afterwards, you can go right back to your normal activities.
